How to Write Better Essays

Your teacher will use you on an appraisal essay. What do you think first? Most college students pay attention to letter grade or percentage point. If this is high, they are happy. For example, a child might have a robot: I like running. I like it. I like to study and more. The mature writer uses different types of sentences, knows idiomic phrases and genre-specific lexicon. Ask yourself a question to improve your style: Will my suggestions affect the reader? Have I used different types of sentences (complex and complex)? Have I used specific lexical words correctly?
